NEW YORK
An online version of "Street Beat News" is
being
launched in September by the Hot Topics syndicate
(www.hottopicsnie.com).
The weekly feature will include streaming video
and other interactive elements.
Paul Wisenthal's "Street Beat News" offers
stories about "ordinary young people with
extraordinary accomplishments." One article
recently won an award from the Southern Newspaper
Publishers Association.
Newspapers running the online version can also
choose to run the print version.
Wisenthal (www.streetbeatnews.com)
was a frequent contributor to the "Student
Briefing Page" in Newsday of Melville, N.Y.
Street Beat News, to launch
as a one-shot in four
major newspapers in the South
Titled, "They Chose Dare,"
tells the story of three
teenagers
who struggled with alcoholism, drugs, and suicide,
and their recovery.
The following newspapers have
signed on to run "Drugs: Truth or Dare" section,
which includes Street Beat News' "They
Chose Dare" (one-shot).
